Pat loves teaching at Westgate and being part of the Westgate community. Pat grew up in Winkler where he gained a love for the outdoors through camping and fishing with his family. He attended the Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna and continued on his Mennonite journey with stops to earn a Bachelor of Theology at CMBC, a term with Mennonite Disaster Service, counseling and directing in the summer programs at Camps With Meaning and a return to CMU for a Bachelor of Arts. After earning his Education degree at the University of Manitoba in 2010, he spent time teaching High School English, working in Support Services and as a Grade 5 classroom teacher. Pat and his wife Ursula are active members at Springstein Mennonite Church. The great experience of building their straw bale house together helped prepare them for having four amazing children, who are now starting to join him as members of the Westgate community.
