Shelley encourages students to see themselves as global citizens through her Grade 7 Social Studies course and to develop as French language speakers through her Grade 7 & 8 French. Discussing literature with Grade 12 AP students is a highlight every year. She attended the University of Manitoba and Briercrest Bible College, and has participated in summer institutes in French language teaching in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec and at St. Boniface College. Shelley has completed her post-baccalaureate in education focusing on reading theory, language teaching, and religion. Professional development opportunities in Language Teaching and AP have been invigorating and inspiring. Traveling with students and staff through France and Germany visiting museums, swimming in the Mediterranean, and eating crepes and kaffe kuchen on European Study Tour has been a highlight. Shelley is also the Producer for the One Act Plays each February, ensuring that the show must go on. Shelley, her husband, and her son, Thomas, live in Wolseley, where Thomas is impatiently awaiting the day he can attend Westgate with his mom. They attend St. Margaret's Anglican Church.
