30S Accounting Principals (1.0 cr.)

This course introduces students to financial principals and concepts, which are valuable in both personal and business situations.  Students will explore the steps involved in the accounting cycle, including the preparation of financial statements.  Other topics include cash control, back reconciliations, payroll accounting and personal income tax preparations.  Students will also use a computerized accounting program and Excel spreadsheets to prepare statements and schedules.

40S Accounting Systems (1.0 cr.)

Prerequisite:  Accounting Principals 30S

This course builds and expands upon the principles and concepts introduced in Accounting Principles 30S. Students will explore adjusting entries, merchandise purchases and sales, merchandise payments and receipts, merchandise inventory, special transactions, analysing and interpreting corporate financial statements. Students will also use a computerized accounting program and Excel spreadsheets to prepare statements and schedules.

15G Futures in Business  (0.5 cr.)

This course is designed to provide students with basic knowledge of the business world and corresponding skills. Emphasis is placed on enabling students to: recognize future business opportunities, communicate effectively, keep accurate records, plan personal goals, process information and incorporate guidelines for personal success when working with others.
