The prime purpose of the resource program is to assist students with a wide range of abilities and achievements so that they may progress emotionally, socially and academically while remaining in the classroom. The main objectives are:
- to identify, select, evaluate and monitor students with additional needs at all levels in collaboration with the student, classroom teacher(s), parents/guardians, educational assistant and resource teacher and community clinicians when necessary.
- to develop and administer an Individual Adaptive Plan (IAP) to ensure the student has the support and direction to foster success.
- to support the work of the classroom teachers.
Strict confidentiality is maintained and the only people with access to student files are the professionals who work with the student.
